LIVERPOOL, England - Steven Gerrard scored during his first start in more than two months as Liverpool came from behind to beat third-tier Oldham 5-1 Friday night and advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Oldham's Robbie Simpson gave the visitors a 28th-minute lead from a 30-yard half-volley at Anfield, but Craig Bellamy tied the score two minutes later with a deflected shot. Gerrard, who has only recently returned from an ankle injury, put Liverpool ahead with a penalty kick in the 45th.
Jonjo Shelvey made it 3-1 in the 68th with his first Liverpool goal, and Andy Carroll (89th minute) and Stewart Downing (90th) added late goals.
